Poster Presentation Overview
Title:
NOF’s Proprietary Ionizable Lipids for Gene Delivery and Low-inflammatory mRNA Vaccine
Speaker:
Masateru Furuta, Research Scientist at NOF CORPORATION
Poster Number:
282 / Gene Delivery and Gene Editing
Summary:
This study evaluated the potential applications of proprietary ionizable lipid-based LNPs beyond traditional hepatic delivery. By adjusting LNP formulations, the technology successfully achieved spleen-specific gene delivery in mice. Furthermore, evaluating these LNPs in murine models demonstrated their utility in infectious disease vaccines—achieving comparable antibody production to a marketed vaccine with lower inflammatory cytokine production and fewer fever-related adverse reactions—as well as in cancer vaccines, where neoantigen mRNA-encapsulated LNPs showed tumor growth suppression. These results open the path for organ-specific delivery and diverse vaccine applications.
